Company Profile  

Myself, Mr. Andrew Oswald opened H.R.G Services for business on the 13th of October 1993 at 6 Chediston Street in Halesworth. The business was given its name in memory of the man who made its existence possible. On the 8th of February 1993, My grandfather Mr. Henri Russell Gartley died at the age of 80. He was kind enough to have included me as one of the beneficiaries of his will, I chose to use my inheritance to start the business and choose to use his initials as the permanent reminder of how I was able to start on my own.

Having left school in 1981, I started life in the trade as a Y.T.S. (Youth Training Scheme) trainee at Classic Shoe Repairs in Lowestoft. As years passed I worked my way through to become manager and after 12 years in the trade it was time to start my own business. In 1993 I took the decision and made the move with only enough money to get started with some ancient second hand machinery, I risked everything I had. But as time has passed, I have been able to invest in new machinery and build up a considerable range of stock and offer a comprehensive range of services. In August 1999, I moved into a prime town centre location in Halesworth and now I'm moving from strength to strength. I'm pleased to say now that my reputation for quality has spread to the extent that I draw customers from over 200 miles across Britain and even have one in America and another who sends her shoes to me all the way from Australia.
